Ott Street Eats

Role: Social Media and Marketing Manager

Web design, social media management, and promotional materials

Starting in February 2023, I was hired to start up and manage Ott Street Eats food truck's social medias and website. I also consulted on various marketing strategies and created promotional materials.

Social Media

Ott Street Eats' goal on social media was to grow a loyal following and have a place to post updates, weekly menu changes, and photos of food and happy customers. We did this via Instagram and Facebook. We also kept up with reviews via Google and Yelp.

Promotional Materials

Mailers

For this project, I was tasked with creating promotional mailers to send to Harrisonburg residents to alert them of the new food truck in town.

I designed the mailers as well as contacted the printers and obtained the mailing list. I had to follow both parameters from the printers as well as the company's.

It was vital the the mailer included the hours, location, "open" indicator, call to action, and information about the truck.

Loyalty Cards

Ott Street Eats was looking for a way to retain loyal customers and keep people coming back for more. We decided to do a loyalty card for that reason. The design is simple to use and understand, but unique enough to clearly signify the brand and the promotion.

Radio Ad

Ott Street Eats had a radio advertisement run for a few months after opening. I met with the radio representative and discussed what stations reached our target populations and discussed the amount of ads and frequency. We ended the advertisement solely because we did not hear a lot of customer feedback telling us that it was the reason they were coming. Also, it was very hard to get accurate demographic and marketing information from the radio.

Business Cards

Banner

This banner is used at catering events on the front of the table. It will also be used when the truck is brought to catering events to display all necessary information easily.

The space at the top was designed to fold over the top of the table, as the printing guidelines did not exactly fit the table dimensions. It is NOT a design choice.

*Apologies for the quality, the actual file is too big to upload.*

Flyer

When the truck opened in the very beginning, we started our advertising journey by spreading the word person-to-person. We handed these flyers out directly to local people and businesses and posted them on public boards around the city. We also put them in JMU student downtown welcome gift bags. These are no longer used, as the purpose of the truck has shifted from a physical location to more of a catering business.
